If you’ve spent any time at luxury resorts, you’ve probably heard the term “white glove service” being thrown around. Here on Kauai, white gloves are probably not the most functional choice; between the Farm at Hokuala, hiking trails, and adventure excursions, we like to get our hands a little dirty. Still, when it comes to the service part of the equation, we are all about going that extra mile so that our guests can too—whether it’s on a sea kayak, waterfall hike, or to spend the day on a secluded beach.

That’s one of the reasons we’ve reinvented Nalu’s, (formerly our poolside bar and grill), into a full-on adventure and activities center. The team at Nalu’s provide guests with daily information on ocean, trail, and weather conditions. The Nalu’s crew will also make sure our guests have the right gear, from hiking poles and coolers to beach chairs and umbrellas for the ultimate outing. They’ll even pack the car for you, (talk about those white gloves) and dial in a few of the details you might not have thought of, like bottles of water in the car and ready to go for your drive. It’s like having a local guide, a concierge, and a tour operator all in one. Only, we’re right here. At your house.

We’re excited to announce the Grand Opening of the new Nalu’s, along with the following new programs and excursions:

Snorkel Courses

Ocean Safety is a top priority on Kauai. Beginning this May through October 2019, we will offer complimentary snorkel refresher courses and snorkeling for beginners at the Maliula pool by the activities center. Guests can also rent snorkel gear from Nalu’s to explore independently at one of Kauai’s many beautiful, lifeguarded beaches. Not sure where to go? Our guides will know the best (and safest) places to enjoy Kauai’s plentiful ocean activities.

Weekly Kayaking Excursions

Exploring the island from a kayak gives our guests a new and more intimate perspective of Kauai. That’s one of the reasons we’ve decided to beef up our kayak offering with weekly kayaking excursions around island including trips up the Hanalei, Wailua and Hulēʻia Rivers. Starting in June, we will also be offering kayaking lessons and trips on the Timbers lagoon through Nalu’s.  We’re excited to activate the lagoons with our kayaking tours as it will allow guests to better connect with their surroundings on property and also help them build confidence and skill in paddling through Kauai’s wildlife refuge areas and other longer waterway adventures should they choose.  We also want to encourage guests to explore the island independently.
