Kauai Adventure Series: Private Waterfall Hike

This month, we’re showcasing a family-friendly private waterfall hike and swim, which has become a favorite of many of our Owners—several of whom have done the hike numerous times.

Nestled in the Hule’ia National Wildlife Refuge surrounded by a bamboo forest and lush, tropical foliage, the double waterfall excursion begins roughly 15 minutes from Timbers Kauai.

Just 15 to 20 minutes into the hike, adventurers reach the 25-foot Bamboo Waterfall, and just 10 minutes beyond that, the 75-foot Hule’ia Falls comes into view. At Hule’ia Falls, a rope ladder allows adventurers to climb behind the veil of the waterfall and experience a unique and powerful perspective of the rushing water.

After spending some time relishing Kauai’s natural beauty—or even taking a dip in the refreshing water—it’s just a 15- to 20-minute hike back to the starting point. Make sure you pack your camera or have your mobile phone teed up for amazing photographs.

The two-and-a-half hour tour includes snacks and refreshments provided by Timbers Kauai. Water shoes are also provided.
