With so many activities on Kauai, it can be hard to know where to start. Fortunately, with Kalapaki Beach serving as home base for Owners at Timbers Kauai Ocean Club & Residences, the Kauai Beach Boys can help point you in the right direction. Since 1983, the Kauai Beach Boys have been teaching surf lessons, and have since expanded to stand up paddleboard (SUP) lessons, canoe rides, snorkel and kayak rentals, and anything else you could hope to do on the ocean. When you take a lesson with the Kauai Beach Boys, you learn more than how to paddle or surf, you learn about the true spirit of aloha.
Winding its way through mango and guava groves to dramatic seaside cliffs, it’s little wonder that the list of accolades for this Jack Nicklaus Signature track is as long as its string of holes that hug the Pacific. The Ocean Course at Hokuala offers Owners the best golfing on Kauai, in Hawaii, and in North America, as ranked by the World Golf Awards.
“I think of Kauai as a laid-back tropical paradise. The island is more quaint and less commercial than Oahu and Maui. I put forth my best effort in the design process at the Ocean Course. The quality of conditioning, maintenance, and playing experience is important to me. It’s reassuring Timbers Resorts is willing to make a commitment to ensure that the product I have produced is taken care of, enjoyed, and thought well of for generations to come.” – Jack Nicklaus
Farm to table—literally. Hualani’s, a casual and eclectic eatery right on site at Timbers Kauai, features dishes inspired by local Hawaiian cuisine and sourced directly from our farm on property. The restaurant serves as a meeting spot in the morning, where families can get fully charged for the day, even if poolside relaxing is the only thing on the agenda, nothing helps you slide into a beach chair like a mimosa with breakfast. For lunch, head to our poolside grill, which serves light bites and cocktails as well as burgers, sandwiches and salads. For dinner, return to Hualani’s where you’ll find a five star menu served in a comfortable setting. Our goal is to serve fine, inspired food in a comfortable setting. However, the ultimate comfort is in your own home, and if you’d like to arrange to have dinner prepared at your residence, that’s an option as well.
Hualani’s is open from 11-3pm for lunch, and Dinner from 5:30pm. Farm to table menu changes often.
We seek to deliver relaxation and excitement in balanced doses, and that separation may be most noticeable at our pools. Head to the Kaiholo pool with a book or some suntan lotion, as this is the place to relax. The two tiered infinity pool gives you the sense that pool meets the ocean, a feeling that complements the serene environment around you. Not far, but far enough, is the Maliula Ohana pool. You will hear laughter, splashes and all sorts of chatter, as this is where families gather to play and unwind. The kids will love the waterfalls that flow into the pool as well as the nearby game lawn, and the parents will enjoy the convenience of grab-and-go fresh fare and snacks from Nalu’s, located right next to the pool.
Big Adventures for the Little Ones
You deserve a relaxing vacation. We have developed personalized programs that give both kids and adults the opportunity to experience meaningful activities that incorporate exercise, culture and fun. Integrating play with culture, kids learn through art about endangered Hawaiian monk seals and Nene (Hawaii’s state bird), and through crafts about palm frond weaving and haku lei making like Native Hawaiians of old. A splashing good time will be had at the pool (always a favorite)! For our older kids (8-15), island excursions are tailored to the group’s abilities and interests.
Babysitting is available upon request—please inquire with the concierge on scheduling and fees.
