2022 Year In Review

What a year! From welcoming new Owners to beginning new weekly activities to participating in community events — 2022 brought many memorable moments.

Carrie Bligh, who joined the Timbers Kauaʻi ʻOhana as Operations Director in July 2021, has a unique and all-encompassing role here at Hōkūala. We caught up with her to reflect on 2022 and see what’s to come in 2023.

We also asked some of the Timbers ʻOhana to recall their favorite moments of 2022.

“I think the highlight for me is always when we introduce new Owners to their Timbers Kauaʻi ʻOhana (staff and fellow Owners) for the first time. Itʻs always an amazing moment and typically the start of a beautiful friendship!”
– Debbie Edgerton

“Blessed to be graced with Makanaʻs artistry on our golf course with the Tee Markers and Cart Path Ocean Creature designs.”
– Hualani Duncan

“The Beach Day cleanup at Kahili Beach Preserve in Kilauea with HILT. There was so much camaraderie and mana with everyone working together. It was a day filled with so much aloha.”
– Ely Garcia

“The Japanese Lantern Ceremony in May. It was a beautiful ceremony out on our lagoons that brought so much healing and well-being to our Owners, our community, and to ourselves.”
– Joy Stedman

“My favorite part of 2022 was being a part of the team that earned Hualani’s its first Hale ‘dAina Award.”
– Alex Amorin

“The partnership with Folds of Honor and the inaugural Operation: Rising Star golf tournament at Ocean Course Hōkūala. We were so humbled to see the community come together for such a worthy cause. We canʻt wait to do it again next year!”
– Tom Freestone

“I loved it when the keiki group, Nā Maka O Kalalea, visited The Farm at Hōkūala to share their culture and aloha with us. They danced so beautifully on the grass lawn fronting the Farm Hale with lush green banana leaves creating the perfect backdrop to their Hula performance.”
– Carey Sprenger
