At Timbers Kauai, our Owners are the reason that we are here. From the moment they step off of the plane and the first shaka we share with them, to their last tropical Mai Tai, poolside at Hualani’s Restaurant before departure. It’s all about the aloha here at Timbers Kauai at Hokuala, which is why, time and time again, you will hear us say that we are all one big Timbers Kauai ‘Ohana (family), in our little slice of “Paradise, Perfected”.

So how do Owners live aloha, while basking in the daily beauty of The Garden Isle, and enjoying the warm tropical breezes and lush landscapes that make Hawaii one of the most coveted destinations on the planet? There are plenty of fun activities and Hawaiian cultural experiences, offered at Timbers Kauai, that our Owners love to participate in every time they come back Home.

While the list of activities on our property, and on the island of Kauai in general, could probably fill an entire book, we will only mention a few of our Owners’ favorites to give you a glimpse into what daily life at Timbers Kauai looks like!

THE FARM AT HOKUALA

Located within the 450 acres of Hokuala’s lush tropical landscape lies our very own 16.5-acre sustainable organic farm! With thousands of pounds of vegetables and plants harvested each year, we are growing, and quickly. After just a short bike (or golf cart) ride along the paved trails from the Residences and through the greens – Owners and guests can get a private tour of the latest crops being grown onsite, with so much aloha. Some of these crops include: kale, broccoli, carrots, mizuna, tatsoi, pea tendrils, microgreens, Napa cabbage, and bok choy, along with a range of herbs and edible flowers. Plus, our newest favorite – garlic!

There is so much to be learned about native Hawaiian plants: how they grow, and how to prepare and eat them. Sampling some of the delicious fresh fruit such as papayas, mangoes, bananas, and coconuts from the trees is an added perk!

The keiki (kids) also love to visit and pet the rabbits and chickens who live at The Farm. Oftentimes, they can even plant their own seeds or crops and learn when and how to harvest them.

When an Owner joins the Timbers Kauai ‘Ohana, they participate in a ceremonial tradition, in which they plant and name their very own coconut tree which will thrive at The Farm for generations to come.

After visiting The Farm, Owners often stop by Hualani’s Restaurant, where most of the meals are made from our recently harvested ingredients. It is truly a farm-to-table dining experience.

GOLF THE OCEAN COURSE

Timbers Kauai at Hokuala boasts the only Jack Nicklaus golf course on Kauai. Featuring the longest stretch of oceanfront golf on Hawaii, this course was recently named “Hawaiiʻs Best Golf Course”. The Ocean Course at Hokuala offers great specials, packages, and lessons from our very own PGA Pro, which our Owners love to participate in. There are also weekly scramble games which bring Owners together to socialize and meet new members of their Timbers Kauai ‘Ohana.

The “Rockin’ Range” is a great time each week during pau hana (happy hour), to practice and enjoy beverages with friends. There are so many ways that our residents enjoy the lush greens everyday, with stunning views, tropical breezes, and a rainbow or two.

What’s even better than golfing alongside the Pacific? Walking home when you are finished!

KAYAK, CANOE, & PADDLEBOARD THE LAGOONS

Another incredible feature of Timbers Kauai at Hokuala are the 36 miles of freshwater lagoons which flow throughout the property. The lagoons are a man-made habitat supporting five endangered waterbirds — including the Nene, Hawaii’s official state bird. Our Owners float along these lagoons, snapping photos on their choice of a kayak, sailing canoe, or paddleboard  With fantastic views along the way, this is a popular family activity at Timbers Kauai.
